I-285 East Express Lanes Project
East Perimeter Contractors is a construction joint venture developing a proposal to design and construct the Georgia Department of Transportation’s (GDOT) I-285 East Express Lanes Project in the Atlanta metro region.
Project Overview
The I-285 East Express Lanes Project will relieve traffic congestion, enhance safety, and improve mobility along the eastern portion of I-285 in Atlanta through the addition of tolled express lanes to this section of highway. This public-private partnership project will connect the region's major business and employment centers and residential communities within DeKalb and Fulton counties and carry traffic with destinations throughout metro Atlanta and the southeastern United States. Consist of approximately 30 centerline miles of new barrier-separated express lanes along the I-285 top-end perimeter, ultimately in both directions, from the east bank of the Chattahoochee River to the I-20/I-285 Interchange on the east side of Atlanta and extend outside the perimeter along portions of SR400 and I-85.

Provide options for drivers along the corridor to avoid congestion and will tie into a wider system of express lanes being implemented in metro Atlanta as part of GDOT's Major Mobility Investment Program (MMIP).
